Album of the month: March! GOD FORBID 2012

With all these new albums coming out every month its not fair to pick favorites too early. I also don't want to wait to the almost mandatory end of year list. So after an albums been out for a few months, I've decided to let my playlist counter speak the truth on what I really enjoy listening to that month.

There were a lot of records that came out this month of my birth that I was very happy to hear. There was so many to choose from. With releases from CANNIBAL CORPSE-Torture, MESHUGGAH- Kollos, FLYING COLORS - S/T to OVERKILLS- The Electric Age, SOULFLY-Enslaved and LULLACRYS Where Angels Fear. Were some of the albums I played often this month.

However, the most surprising release for me has to be GOD FORBID- Equilibrium. I thought I knew what to expect with all their other albums, but man, this record went left when I thought it was gonna go right! Its a good thing when a bands been out for a while and still surprises you.

Off the top, lead singer, Byron Davis has now joined my list of favorite vocalists! He sung and actually sang his ass off. I had no clue he could sing so damned good! Doc Coyle & Byron killed it on "Scraping the Walls", they compliment each other so well. Depending on the day or my mood "Equilibrium" and "Pages" are the top songs of this album. If they do another video, one of these songs need to be showcased! (Little did I know when I wrote this they had the same idea!)

The not so new guy, Matt Wicklund is a so damned good, you want to hate him. He's one of those guys that join a band and make you forget there was someone before him. He fits that well the rhythm section of Corey Pierce  (Drums) and John Outcalt (Bass) are on point and tighter then ever. This record deserves to be heard. It makes me want to headbang and smile at the same time! In a perfect world this record should push them to that next level they should be at. Let's go Victory Records, make it happen!
